Filed under: Weddings This was the first time I had a submission from a bride, and when I perused through the photos I had a lot of mixed feelings, such as, do I agree with the aesthetic? A lot of hhhmms going on in my head. Ultimately I think that the style, colors, and really everything, were very complimentary to each other. There is a definite look, opinion, and essence about the couple and the wedding that really shines through. I really like how unique this is to the individual and reflects their personalities. Lets find out the bride's inspiration! Per the bride, Jessica Hersh, "My florist was The Green Flamingo in Richmond, VA, and the photographers were Jen + Ashley Photography in Richmond, VA. I got married in an old train station, so the inspiration across the board was vintage/1920s décor. After checking out images on Pinterest, I was really drawn to purples and peacock feathers. It was classic and different all at the same time, which was the perfect vibe for me! The centerpieces were actually made my mother-in-law (Jackie Puglis), but everything else was Green Flamingo." I would never think to put the dyed plum leaves with a single purple hydrangea, but the florist did! I've never seen this before-- have you? I really like the stands; the brown old-world color and branches. The flowers on the stands in the back are really nice too! The colors work so well together, and the style of design, albeit simple, is great. It just goes to show you that you don't need super large arrangements for ceremony flowers! The bride's bouquet has a mixture of purple flowers, and I think given her vision and the style and color, the florist executed this really well. The boutonierre is lisianthus and a peacock feather. Again, the centerpieces aren't something I'd normally go for, but it just makes sense in the setting for some reason. Like it all works really well together from ceremony to reception and has a balance to it. Thank you Jessica for sharing! Wishing you and yours a lifetime of happiness and bliss:)
